Why I prune my landscape shrubs

Well, it really isn’t a secret that landscape shrubs need to be pruned from time to time. Some of them get downright ugly if left alone too long, and that is why I prune them. But, that is not the only reason I prune my shrubs!

The greatest advantage I have when pruning my shrubs is the amount of softwood cuttings I get. These cuttings are used to propagate many more plants that I sell. I simply prune one type shrub at a time and collect the cuttings. I then stick these cuttings under my misting system to enable them to form roots. Once the roots are formed I remove them from the mist and pot them up.

Once potted up I sell them to friends, neighbors and even the occasional stranger who usually becomes a fast friend.
